Summary

Tesamorelin is a synthetic GHRH analog that increases pulsatile GH and IGF-1 secretion, improving visceral adipose tissue in HIV-associated lipodystrophy. It has focused randomized trial support for this indication, but is not approved for general obesity or anti-aging. Effects are modest outside the lipodystrophy population, and it requires careful patient selection.
