Summary

Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin receptor agonist that reduces appetite and slows gastric emptying, often studied in combination with GLP-1 agonists for obesity. Early trials show additive weight loss versus GLP-1 alone, with a generally manageable GI tolerability profile. It remains investigational for chronic weight management and is not yet broadly approved.
